Couse Overview:

The purpose of this course is to establish a foundation in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in the English language. This outline is designed for individuals from different backgrounds looking to hone their skills in the English language as it is used in formal and informal settings. Participants will be exposed to the various elements that come together to form the English language ??? from Grammar, including but not limited to tenses, sentence structure, punctuation, and active/passive voice to verbal and written communication skills. Presentations, readings, and essay topics will be practised and applied in contexts familiar to the participants. They will build vocabulary that can be used at home, university, and workplace settings daily. Students will be encouraged to step out of their comfort zone through presentations, group activities, and class participation, which is essential for confidence building in a second language. By the end of this course, students will confidently be able to hold a conversation, read and write an essay, and present at an advanced level. These are the kinds of transferrable skills that will help in second language testing IELTS/TOEFL, professional and work settings, and also for personal development purposes. 

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, the students should be able to: 

  • Students will learn the correct usage of grammar. 
  • Students will improve their speaking skills in English both in terms of fluency and clarity. They will be able to converse with a wide range of people on diverse topics. 
  • Students will receive feedback on oral and PowerPoint presentations, class participation, and group activities.
  • Students will be able to identify the main arguments/ideas in an essay or a text. 
  • Students will hone their writing, speaking, reading and listening skills.

In this case, the university will refund registration/processing fee (if any) but will not be responsible for any other related charges/expenses including cancellation/change charges by airline and travel agencies.

Participants must register online through CES website by clicking on their desired course and filling out a one-page form. Before starting the registration process, please ensure that you have a formal scanned picture (for CES smart card) and CNIC details. Incorrect information provided during the registration process will lead towards cancellation of your enrolment at any stage and participants will not be entitled to claim a refund.

Once you have completed your online registration for your desired course, you may proceed to payment section. You have the option to pay online using your bank debit/credit cards through LUMS online payment system?? by downloading the fee vouchers and depositing cash in any branch of designated banks specified on the fee voucher. Once you make your payment, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 to 48 working hours and your payment status will be updated to "PAID" in the online application portal.
