Course Overview:

Have you dreamt of performing a financial statement audit under the supervision of qualified charted accountants?

Practical Auditing 101 provides you the opportunity to conduct an audit of a private limited company. Working under the supervision of a qualified auditor from leading auditing firm, the students will perform a complete audit from planning to issuing an audit opinion and communication with those charged with governance. This course will also focus on the employability/workplace skills such as business communications skills (emails writing and professional presentations) and interpersonal skills (teamwork and collaboration).

Learning Outcomes:

This course is designed to give students an opportunity to:

  • understand and advise on regulatory, professional, and ethical issues relevant to those carrying out assurance engagements
  • understand the processes involved in accepting and managing assurance engagements and how quality assurance processes mitigate risks
  • plan assurance engagements in accordance with the terms of the engagements and appropriate standards
  • formulate the work required to meet the objectives of audit assignments and apply the International Standards on Auditing
  • conclude and report on audit and various other assurance engagements in accordance with the terms of the engagements and appropriate standards; and
  • discuss current assurance/auditing developments (financial press/specialist publications by industry experts).


Please note: It is mandatory to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 to attend on-campus classes. Participants will be required to upload their vaccination certificate at the time of registration.

Participants must register online through CES website by clicking on their desired course and filling out a one-page form. Before starting the registration process, please ensure that you have a formal scanned picture (for CES smart card) and CNIC details. Incorrect information provided during the registration process will lead towards cancellation of your enrolment at any stage and participants will not be entitled to claim a refund.

Once you have completed your online registration for your desired course, you may proceed to payment section. You have the option to pay online using your bank debit/credit cards through LUMS online payment system??https://pay.lums.edu.pk??OR by downloading the fee vouchers and depositing cash in any branch of designated banks specified on the fee voucher. Once you make your payment, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 to 48 working hours and your payment status will be updated to "PAID" in the online application portal
