
Overview:
Korean is the official language of the Korean Peninsula (North and South), spoken by over 80 million people worldwide. It uses a unique and logical writing system called Hangul, created in the 15th century to promote literacy. Learning the Korean language in today???s world offers numerous benefits, from personal growth to professional opportunities. It allows language learners to connect deeply with Korean culture, enhancing their experience of K-pop, K-dramas, and K-literature by engaging with it in an authentic way. Professionally, it opens doors in industries like technology, entertainment, and education, as South Korea???s global influence continues to grow. Additionally, mastering Korean sharpens cognitive skills and provides a sense of accomplishment for language learners. Whether for travel, career advancement, or forming meaningful connections with native speakers, learning Korean is an enriching and rewarding endeavor!
At CES, Korean Language (A1) is intended to develop an elementary proficiency in the four key areas i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing, while developing socio-cultural awareness of South Korean history, language and culture.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Read and write in Hangeul (the Korean alphabet)
Recognize familiar words and basic phrases
Participate in everyday conversations
start understanding K-Content (dramas, music) without subtitles
Utilize essential knowledge of South Korea???s history and culture

Application Process:
Participants must register online through the CES website by clicking on their desired course and filling out a one-page form. Before starting the registration process, please ensure that you have the following:
- A passport-sized photograph for the CES smartcard. It should be against a white background.
- Correct CNIC details.
Incorrect information provided during the registration process will lead towards cancellation of your enrolment at any stage, and participants will not be entitled to claim a refund.
Once you have completed your online registration, you may proceed to the payment section. You have two options:
1. Pay online using your bank debit/credit cards through LUMS online payment system https://pay.lums.edu.pk
2. Download the fee voucher and deposit cash in any branch of the designated banks specified on the fee voucher.
Once the payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 to 48 working hours, and your payment status will be updated to "ENROLLED" in the online application portal.
Installment:

Note: CES may cancel or postpone a course due to insufficient enrolment or unforeseen circumstances. In this case, the university will refund registration/processing fee (if any) but will not be responsible for any other related charges/expenses including cancellation/change charges by airline and travel agencies.
