
Course Overview:
AI and FinTech are redefining how money moves, risks are managed, and investment decisions are made. This intensive 8-week course is designed for ambitious students and working professionals who want to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving financial landscape. Blending theory with hands-on applications, the course explores AI-driven payments, digital lending, robo-advisory, blockchain, credit scoring, and financial regulation using real-world data and industry cases. Participants develop practical skills in machine learning, fraud detection, and financial analytics while critically engaging with ethical and policy challenges. The program concludes with a capstone project where participants design a market-ready FinTech solution relevant to emerging economies, including Pakistan.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Explain major FinTech business models and the role of AI in transforming modern financial services.
Apply basic AI and machine-learning techniques (e.g., classification, NLP, anomaly detection) to financial datasets.
Analyse payment systems, blockchain technologies, robo-advisory platforms, and digital lending ecosystems from a strategic perspective.
Critically evaluate ethical, legal, and regulatory challenges associated with AI and FinTech innovations, including bias, privacy, and financial stability.
Communicate technical and strategic insights effectively through written briefs, executive summaries, and visual presentations.
Collaborate in teams to design, prototype, and present an original FinTech solution or business case.

Application Process:
Participants must register online through the CES website by clicking on their desired course and filling out a one-page form. Before starting the registration process, please ensure that you have the following:
- A passport-sized photograph for the CES smartcard. It should be against a white background.
- Correct CNIC details.
Incorrect information provided during the registration process will lead towards cancellation of your enrolment at any stage, and participants will not be entitled to claim a refund.
Once you have completed your online registration, you may proceed to the payment section. You have two options:
1. Pay online using your bank debit/credit cards through the LUMS online payment system https://pay.lums.edu.pk
2. Download the fee voucher and deposit cash in any branch of the designated banks specified on the fee voucher.
Once the payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 to 48 working hours, and your payment status will be updated to "ENROLLED" in the online application portal.

Note: CES may cancel or postpone a course due to insufficient enrolment or unforeseen circumstances. In this case, the university will refund registration/processing fee (if any) but will not be responsible for any other related charges/expenses including cancellation/change charges by airline and travel agencies.
