Course Overview:

In this course, students will build real, live websites from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript the three core languages that power the modern web. Students will also learn to use AI tools (such as Claude, Gemini, Co-pilot or Cursor) in two ways: as a learning companion to explain concepts and debug errors, and as a coding co-pilot to build things faster. A critical eye toward AI-generated output is part of the curriculum students learn when to trust it and when to question it.

The course is anchored by a personal main project: each student will design and publish their own website on a live URL by the end of the course. Short optional mini-exercises reinforce individual concepts throughout.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, the students should be able to:

  • Build and structure web pages using HTML semantic elements and style them effectively with CSS.

  • Use JavaScript to make web pages interactive and dynamic.

  • Apply AI tools (Claude, GitHub Copilot) as both a learning aid and a coding co-pilot, while critically evaluating AI-generated output

  • Version-control their project using Git and GitHub.

  • Deploy a fully functioning website to a live URL using Netlify or a similar platform.

  • Evaluate what makes a website good as a product considering usability, visual design, and responsiveness.

Course: Introduction to Business

The overall experience that I’ve had with this course is just amazing. It’s like a micro MBA that LUMS can have you do in less than two months. It’s a very rigorous course, it’s time-consuming and very hands-on and is a learning experience that everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
