Course Overview:

This practical programme shows participants how to pair Excel's advanced features with AI tools such as Claude to clean data faster, analyse it more deeply, and build interactive dashboards with less manual effort. Participants will learn to write effective prompts for Claude to generate and debug formulas, plan data-cleaning steps, recommend the right visuals, and reason through analysis while mastering the core Excel functions that underpin serious data work.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of this course, the students should be able to:

• Understand where AI genuinely helps (and where it doesn't) in day-to-day Excel work.

• Use Claude as an Excel co-pilot: generate, explain, and debug formulas through clear prompting.

• Clean and transform messy datasets using AI-assisted techniques.

• Apply advanced functions XLOOKUP, INDEX-MATCH, dynamic arrays, logical and statistical functions.

• Analyse large datasets using AI-assisted techniques.

• Summarise data with Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts.

• Design effective data visualisations and interactive dashboards, with Claude helping suggest the right chart and layout.

• Use AI prompts effectively for Excel-related problem-solving.

Dabeer Khalid is a Fellow Member of ICAP (Pakistan) and ACCA (UK) with 16+ years of experience at PwC, Deloitte, and Fatima Group. A recognized Data Analytics and Financial Modeling expert, he specializes in Excel-driven analytics, dashboards, and financial models, delivering hands-on, results-oriented training that turns data into confident business decisions.

Application Process:

Participants must register online through the CES website by clicking on their desired course and filling out a one-page form. Before starting the registration process, please ensure that you have the following:

- A passport-sized photograph for the CES smartcard. It should be against a white background.

- Correct CNIC details.

Incorrect information provided during the registration process will lead towards cancellation of your enrolment at any stage, and participants will not be entitled to claim a refund.

Once you have completed your online registration, you may proceed to the payment section. You have two options:

1. Pay online using your bank debit/credit cards through LUMS online payment system https://pay.lums.edu.pk

2. Download the fee voucher and deposit cash in any branch of the designated banks specified on the fee voucher.

Once the payment has been made, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 to 48 working hours, and your payment status will be updated to "ENROLLED" in the online application portal.

Note: CES may cancel or postpone a course due to insufficient enrolment or unforeseen circumstances.
