Where this fits in the IB Career related Programme

The CP is the IB's programme for students aged 16-19 who want career-related learning alongside academic study. It leads on to university, apprenticeships or employment.

At least two DP coursesDiploma Programme subjects that give the academic grounding, externally examined by the IB.
The CP coreFour components that build skills for lifelong learning, including a reflective project assessed by the IB.
Career-related studyPractical, real-world learning in a chosen field. This is the part covers, taught at LUMS.

Every CP student completes one career-related study alongside their DP courses and the CP core. It is the applied strand of the programme, where students take the theories and concepts they are studying and work with them in a field they have chosen for themselves. Students who finish the CP hold the IB Career-related Programme Certificate together with the certification awarded by the provider of their career-related study.

LUMS works with the IB as a career-related studies provider, offering university-level courses that CP schools can adopt as their students' career-related study. The pathways lead where the CP itself leads: on to higher education, an apprenticeship or a first role in the field.
