Policies

LUMS ensures an enabling environment for learning and takes strict action against Violation of the Code of Conduct.

GENERAL

  • To enrol in on-campus courses, participants are required to be fully vaccinated. Without this, the participant will not be granted admission.
  • LUMS has zero tolerance for any form of aggressive behaviour, such as harassment, stalking, or ragging, and can result in strict disciplinary action.
  • Participants will be charged in case of damage to any LUMS property.
  • Participants are allowed to enter campus thirty minutes before class commencement and must exit the campus within thirty minutes after the class ends. Overstaying or attempting to enter LUMS at another time without prior permission will result in strict disciplinary action.
  • Vehicles are allowed to park in the designated Free Parking area only.
  • Parking on pathways, roads, and crossings is considered a violation of campus policies.
  • Repeated parking violations will result in fines and/or being barred entry into LUMS.
  • Smoking is only allowed in designated spaces on campus only. Violations will result in fines and other disciplinary action.

Certificate of Attendance:

  • At least 80% attendance is required to receive a certificate of completion.
  • CES reserves the right not to award a certificate if the course criteria are not satisfactorily met.
  • Certificate of completion must be collected within a month of course conclusion.
  • The department will not be responsible for damaged or lost certificates after the deadline above.
  • The name that you submit in Registration Form will be printed, as you state it, on your certificate.
  • PKR 5000 will be charged in case of a name change or reprint of the certificate.

On-campus:

  • At the end of the course, you will be awarded a Certificate of Completion, granted that you meet the eligibility criteria. This will be the hard copy of the certificate.

Online:

  • At the end of the course, you will be awarded an E-Certificate, granted that you meet the eligibility criteria.
  • This will be an electronic/soft copy of the certificate. 
  • If you would like to request a printed/hard copy of the certificate, please download the fee voucher of PKR 3000 from your student portal.
  • Once your payment is processed for the hard copy of the certificate, your certificate will be dispatched from our end and reach you in 20-25 working days.

ATTENDANCE

  • At least 80% attendance is required to receive a certificate of completion.
  • Attendance will be marked during the first ten minutes of every class.
  • Participants coming late or leaving early from the class will be marked absent.
  • Marking proxy attendance is strictly prohibited and is considered a violation of LUMS policies.
  • Any project submitted for evaluation should be collected from the CES office within thirty (30) days of submission, after which the CES management will not bear any responsibility for its loss or damage.

SMART CARD

  • PKR 3000 will be charged in case of damage to or loss of a smart card.
  • Misuse of the smartcard on and off-campus or facilitating unauthorised access to outsiders to enter the campus will be a breach of LUMS policy and can result in strict disciplinary action.
  • Participants are required to return the smart card in the last class of the course. Failure to do so can result in the non-issuance of the certificate and the participant being barred entry into LUMS.
  • In case of a lost or stolen card, the participant should immediately contact the team with their details at: ces@lums.edu.pk

REFUNDS

  • Refunds are only given if the Center for Continuing Education Studies cancels a course.
  • Course fee is non-refundable in case of a disciplinary issue.
  • Participants are required to undertake due diligence regarding the course selection. Once registered, participants cannot switch courses when classes commence.
  • The University reserves the right to decide on refunds and course swaps.
  • Manual Payments are meant to facilitate late enrolments. These, however, are not refundable unless the course has been cancelled by the management.
  • In case a refund is applicable, the participant has to claim within 30 days of the course commencement date, after which the refund cannot be claimed.

ADMISSION

  • LUMS reserves the right to grant or deny admission to its courses.
  • The admissions are processed on a first-come-first-served basis. No further enrollments will be taken once the seats fill up for a particular course.
