This course will cover the cybersecurity fundamentals. At CES, the objective of this course is to highlight the importance of cybersecurity, businesses problems, malware analysis and career paths in the cyber security field. In this course, the main focus will be on data, how this is converted to cash, what are cyber security challenges in the industry and how attackers exploit their targets.

Overall, 92% of organizations are concerned about their information security function in key areas. Resources are a key issue: 30% of organizations are struggling with skills shortages, while 25% cite budget constraints. So, another purpose of this course is to fulfill this market requirement, so a specialized workforce can be prepared via a technical Cyber Security training. There are many companies in Pakistan that require resources with the right Cyber Security certifications.

Learning Outcomes:

Participants will be able to learn the basics of cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks. Primary emphasis will be on Host based attacks, real malware analysis, phishing attacks investigations and Trojan horses in software utilities. Network attacks such as distributed denial of service (DDOS) and botnet - attacks will also be discussed in detail.

This course is open for participants who are willing to learn cyber security fundamentals. After this course, participants can choose an advanced level training in any of the following areas:

  • QA/Test Engineer
  • SOC Analyst
  • Threat Hunter

Participants must register online through CES website by clicking on their desired course and filling out a one-page form. Before starting the registration process, please ensure that you have a formal scanned picture (for CES smart card) and CNIC details. Incorrect information provided during the registration process will lead towards cancellation of your enrolment at any stage and participants will not be entitled to claim a refund.

Once you have completed your online registration for your desired course, you may proceed to payment section. You have the option to pay online using your bank debit/credit cards through LUMS online payment system??https://pay.lums.edu.pk??OR by downloading the fee vouchers and depositing cash in any branch of designated banks specified on the fee voucher. Once you make your payment, you will receive a confirmation email within 24 to 48 working hours and your payment status will be updated to "PAID" in the online application portal.
